Locums – Bellingham, Washington | Gastroenterology Opportunity

Clinical Role RecruitWell is seeking a Board Certified Gastroenterologist for a locums opportunity in Bellingham, Washington. This assignment includes inpatient and outpatient Gastroenterology, clinic, endoscopy, rounding, admissions, and 24-hour call coverage. ERCP is required, and IMLC candidates are accepted.

Assignment Details

• Start: January 4, 2027

• Expected assignment length: 6 months

• Scheduled coverage with call

• Standard day shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

• Ambulatory clinic/endoscopy shifts: approximately 8–9 hours

• 24-hour weekday and weekend call shifts

• Reason for coverage: Gap in coverage

• Clinic and hospital privileges

• Inpatient and outpatient setting

• 253-bed hospital

• Other Gastroenterologists are part of the practice

• Washington-licensed candidates preferred

• IMLC accepted

• Epic EMR experience preferred

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient Gastroenterology care

• Perform GI procedures

• Perform ERCP

• Provide clinic-based consultations

• Complete inpatient rounding

• Manage admissions

• Respond to hospital consults

• Participate in 24-hour weekday and weekend call coverage

• Provide inpatient and outpatient procedures during call as needed

• Collaborate with other Gastroenterologists and clinical staff

Patient Volume

• Clinic: approximately 16 patients per day

• Outpatient Endoscopy Center: approximately 14–16 patients per day

• Hospital census varies

Procedures & Skills

• General Gastroenterology procedures

• ERCP required

• Inpatient and outpatient procedural experience

Support & Technology

• Other GI physicians in the practice

• Provider will not work solo

• EMR: Epic

• Epic experience preferred

• Provation GI software experience preferred

Requirements

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology required

• ACLS required

• Required certifications must be through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, as applicable

• Active Washington medical license preferred

• IMLC candidates accepted

• Must be comfortable with inpatient, outpatient, procedural, and call responsibilities

• ERCP proficiency required
