Position Overview:
- Specialty: Gastroenterology
- Location: Bellingham, WA
- Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient (Acute Care Hospital)
- Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Optional Call Coverage
- Assignment Duration: Expected 6-Month Assignment
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Board Certification: Gastroenterology required
- Licensure: Active Washington State Medical License required (IMLC accepted; willing to license)
- Certifications: Active ACLS required (AHA or ARC)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of experience
- Charting/EMR: EPIC EMR experience preferred; Provation GI software preferred
- Special Requirements: ERCP required
Coverage Dates & Schedule:
- Start Date: January 4, 2027 (or ASAP)
- Schedule/Shift Hours: 8 to 9-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM / 15:00) in ambulatory clinic and/or endoscopy setting
- Call Requirements: 24-hour weekday and weekend call/hospitalist shifts (includes rounding, consults, inpatient/outpatient GI procedures)
- Call Terms: Includes 4 hours of gratis for all call shifts
Clinical Responsibilities & Volume:
- Patient Demographics: Adults (18+)
- Patient Volume:
- Clinic: 16 patients per day
- Outpatient Endoscopy Center: 14–16 patients per day
- Scope of Work: Rounding, admissions, consults, and both inpatient and outpatient GI procedures
- Support: Working alongside an established group of GI physicians in the practice
- Required Procedures: General Gastroenterology procedures and ERCP
