Position Overview:
- Specialty: Gastroenterology
- Location: Chambersburg, PA
- Start Date: January 4, 2027
- Duration: 13 weeks (Ongoing coverage)
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital
- Coverage Type: Inpatient Consults, Procedures, and On-Call Coverage
- Patient Population: Adult (18+)
- EMR: EPIC
Schedule & Workload Structure:
- Schedule: 1, 2, or 3-week blocks per month (Flexible, but must work the full block)
Shift Details:
- Monday – Wednesday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM in-hospital
- Thursday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM in-hospital, followed by 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM on call
- Week 1 Friday: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM in-hospital (consults & procedures), followed by 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM on call
- Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM in-hospital, followed by 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM on call
- Week 2 Friday: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM in-hospital
Clinical Details & Support:
- Support Staff: In-house Anesthesia support available. Advanced Practice Provider (APP) available Monday through Friday (8:00 AM – 3:00/4:00 PM) to assist with hospital consults (APPs do not work weekday holidays).
- Procedures: Standard GI procedures. ERCP is preferred; no EUS required.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Board Certification: Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Gastroenterology
- Licensure: Active Pennsylvania State Medical License (or active IMLC/LOQ in hand); willing-to-license candidates considered
- Certifications: Active DEA required
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of experience
