Physician - Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology

Job Details:

• 24-hour call coverage required with shifts running 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
  
• Coverage needed for the following dates:
  • 11/24/2026 7:00 AM 11/25/2026 7:00 AM
  • 12/22/2026 7:00 AM and 12/29/2026 7:00 AM
  • 1/5/2027 7:00 AM 1/8/2027 7:00 AM
  • 2/1/2027 7:00 AM 2/2/2027 7:00 AM
  
  
• Ongoing locum coverage anticipated through end of 2026, with between 5 11 twenty-four-hour shifts per month
  
• Hospital ED/call and clinic call coverage; ERCP and EUS are not required
  
• No mid-level support available
  
• Patient encounters per shift: 4 10 patients
  
• 12-bed department
  
• Board certification required (minimum: Board Certified)
  
• ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications required
  
• Trauma Level 3 facility; Pediatric Level 2
  
• Required procedural skills include:
  • Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, foreign body removal, cautery/laser fulguration, injection of varices, and PEG placement)
  • Esophageal dilatation, manometry, and manometry interpretation
  • Small bowel biopsy
  • Lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid), and colonoscopy (with biopsy and polyp excision)
  • Liver biopsy
  • Insertion and management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube
