Assignment Details
Dates: October 15–21, 2026
Schedule: GI coverage with beeper call; exact schedule to be confirmed
Coverage type: Inpatient GI coverage + procedures
Volume: 5–7 patients per shift; approximately 4–6 call patients
Setting: Inpatient GI service and GI lab
Support: 1–2 RNs; established GI team with 2 NPs and 1 PA-C
EMR: Epic
Credentialing: Approximately 30–60 days
Clinical Details
Required: Upper and lower GI endoscopy
Required: Diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP
Required: EUS
Required: Colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy
Required: Upper endoscopy with biopsy, hemostasis, variceal therapy and foreign body removal
Required: PEG placement
Required: Esophageal dilation and manometry
Required: Sigmoidoscopy, small bowel biopsy and liver biopsy
Required: Sengstaken-Blakemore tube insertion/management
Requirements
Board certification required
Active Texas medical license required
ACLS and BLS required
ABLS and ATLS listed as required by facility
Active DEA
