A hospital in the Potsdam, NY area is looking for a gastroenterologist for 24-hour call coverage starting December 7, 2026, for 26 weeks. Full weeks are preferred, or as many days in a row as possible, and the schedule is Monday to Sunday. Weekday call pays $4,023.25 per 24-hour day, which covers the first 8 hours of patient contact each day. Weekend call pays $3,291.75 per 24-hour day. Callback is $402.33 per hour, and holidays pay 1.25x. On weekdays you also see patients in the office (8:00am to 4:00pm) and perform procedures (7:30am to 3:30pm), with a maximum of 2 procedure days a week. Anesthesia is in each procedure, with an NP and an LPN supporting the unit. Epic. Travel and lodging are covered.
Job Responsibilities
- See adult patients with a wide variety of acute medical problems in the office, about 15 to 20 per day
- Perform EGD, upper and lower endoscopy, PEG tube placement, and esophageal dilation
- Refer ERCP and EUS cases out
- Document in Epic
Qualifications
- Active New York license in hand
- Epic experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the last 2 years
- BLS and ACLS, with AHA or RQI certification
- No gaps of 30 days or more in work history
