Job description
A hospital in the Charleston, WV area is looking for a gastroenterologist to cover GI hospitalist call, starting January 4, 2027 for a 6-month assignment. The schedule is 7 days on, 7 days off, on 24-hour call shifts. Pay is $4,235 per 24-hour call day, $531.30 per hour for callback, and $519.75 per hour for regular clinic shifts. Holiday call pays $5,082 per day and holiday clinic hours pay $623.70 per hour. IMLC licensure works, and the facility will support licensing. Travel and lodging are covered.
Job Responsibilities
- Take night call, with the team holding non-urgent items until morning whenever possible
- Work alongside 9 APPs, RNs, LPNs, and MAs across 3 GI locations; two of the APPs have advanced GI training and see patients ahead of the physician
- Care for an adult population, average patient age 58
- Document in Cerner
Qualifications
- Active license in an IMLC state, or eligibility for a West Virginia temporary license
- DEA registration
- BLS and ACLS
