Gastroenterologist - Advanced Endoscopy - ASAP Start - Albuquerque, NM

Schedule: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM in-house coverage with overnight call

Position Overview:
Seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for ongoing inpatient locum coverage in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This is a higher-acuity GI opportunity with both ERCP and EUS required.

Schedule & Clinical Coverage:

• 12 hours of in-house coverage, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
  
• Overnight call from 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
  
• 24-hour call coverage
  
• Assigned inpatient rounding and consultations
  
• Admissions required
  
• Approximately 15 patients per shift
• Typical admissions: 5–10
  
• Call-back volume: approximately 30%
  
• Must be available for full 7–14 day stretches; partial weeks are not considered

Procedures:

• ERCP – diagnostic and therapeutic
  
• EUS
  
• Upper GI endoscopy
  
• Colonoscopy
  
• Flexible and rigid sigmoidoscopy
  
• Endoscopy with biopsy
  
• Polyp removal
  
• Foreign body removal
  
• Treatment of GI bleeding
  
• Variceal injection
  
• PEG
  
• Esophageal dilation
  
• Esophageal manometry interpretation
  
• Small bowel biopsy
  
• Liver biopsy
• Sengstaken/Blakemore tube insertion and management

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology – required
  
• Gastroenterology fellowship preferred
  
• Active New Mexico medical license required
  
• Active New Mexico Board of Pharmacy registration
  
• DEA that can be dedicated to New Mexico for the assignment
  
• BLS and ACLS
  
• Recent experience performing both ERCP and EUS
  
• Ability to supervise APPs

Support & Travel:

• Support includes 3 RNs and 3 APPs
  
• Temporary privileges are available
