Gastroenterologist (General or Advanced) Northeast Texas (Approx. 2 Hours East of Downtown Dallas)

A premier, high-volume practice within a leading Level III Trauma hospital is seeking an experienced Gastroenterologist to join a thriving, collaborative team. Due to significant regional growth, this position offers an immediate turn-key practice with a built-in referral base and exceptional administrative support.

Position Highlights

• Team Structure: Join an established group of 6 full-time Gastroenterologists, 1 full-time GI Hospitalist, and 3 APRNs.

• Balanced Schedule: 4.5 clinical days per week (3 procedure days, 1.5 clinic days).

• Manageable Call: 1:7 rotation, fully supported by a dedicated nurse line and Nurse Practitioner coverage for all calls.

• Scope of Practice: Open to both General and Advanced GI candidates (ERCP/EUS preferred, but not required).

• Immediate Volume: Tap into a well-established primary care referral network with a current 3–6 month wait time for new patients.

Procedure & Clinical Volume

• Average Monthly Volume: 250+ procedures per month

• Core Procedures: Colonoscopy, EGD, Polypectomy, PillCam, and Advanced procedures (including ERCP capabilities).

  To qualify for this position, a candidate must meet the standard educational, licensing, and clinical prerequisites for a Gastroenterology physician in the United States:

  Education & Credentials

  • Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from an accredited medical school.

  • Residency: Completion of an accredited 3-year Internal Medicine Residency.

  • Fellowship: Completion of an accredited 2- to 3-year Gastroenterology Fellowship.

  • Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM).

  Licensure

  • State Medical License: Active (or eligible for) unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Texas.

  • Prescriptive Authority: Active Federal DEA license and Texas DPS registration.

  Clinical Skills & Experience

  • Experience Level: Experienced candidates preferred (open to both General GI and Advanced GI).

  • Core Competencies: Proficiency in core diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including Colonoscopy, EGD, Polypectomy, and PillCam.

  • Advanced Skills (Preferred, Not Required): Training/certification in advanced procedures such as ERCP or EUS.
