GI Hospitalist | 100% Inpatient | No Clinic | Flexible Block Scheduling | Exceptional Work-Life Balance

St. Bernards Healthcare | Jonesboro, Arkansas

St. Bernards Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Gastroenterologist to join our growing Gastroenterology program as a GI Hospitalist in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Gastroenterologist who enjoys the acuity and variety of inpatient medicine but wants the freedom of a hospitalist-style schedule. Focus your practice entirely on **inpatient Gastroenterology and procedures—with no outpatient clinic responsibilities—**while working alongside an established team of experienced Gastroenterologists within a 457-bed regional referral center.

St. Bernards serves a regional population of more than 700,000 throughout Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri, providing a strong and consistent inpatient GI volume supported by an extensive primary care and specialty referral network.

Why Consider Our GI Hospitalist Opportunity?
  • 100% inpatient Gastroenterology
  • No outpatient clinic responsibilities
  • Flexible block scheduling designed around physician preference and program needs
  • Opportunity to create a schedule that provides meaningful, predictable blocks of time off
  • Dedicated inpatient GI procedural suite
  • Strong inpatient procedural volume
  • Established Gastroenterology group and experienced GI-trained nursing staff
  • Experienced anesthesia/CRNA support
  • Single-hospital coverage
  • Large regional referral base with limited market competition
  • Advanced procedural capabilities available based on training and interest
  • Collaborative relationship with Hospital Medicine, Surgery, Critical Care, Oncology, and other specialty teams
  • Physician-led, not-for-profit healthcare system
  • Excellent opportunity for both experienced Gastroenterologists and graduating fellows
  • A Different Way to Practice Gastroenterology
For physicians who enjoy inpatient Gastroenterology but want to step away from the traditional outpatient practice model, this position offers a compelling alternative.

Our flexible block scheduling model allows us to work with the right physician to develop a schedule that meets both individual lifestyle goals and the needs of our growing GI program. Rather than requiring one rigid scheduling model, we are open to discussing different block structures and finding an arrangement that works.

Spend your scheduled time focused on inpatient consults, procedures, and hospitalized patients—with no outpatient clinic or patient panel to maintain. When your block is complete, your time is truly your own.

This is an opportunity to practice high-level Gastroenterology while gaining something increasingly difficult to find in a traditional GI practice: predictable, meaningful time away from work.

Competitive Compensation & Benefits

St. Bernards offers a highly competitive recruitment package that includes:
  • Competitive guaranteed compensation
  • Sign-on bonus
  • Relocation assistance
  • Productivity and/or additional shift opportunities as applicable
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 403(b) retirement plan
  • Malpractice coverage with tail
  • Generous CME allowance
  • Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility through our not-for-profit health system
  • Visa sponsorship opportunities available for qualified candidates
  • Academic Opportunities

For physicians interested in teaching, optional opportunities are available to participate in the education and mentorship of Internal Medicine residents, Family Medicine residents, and medical students.
