### Locums | Advanced Gastroenterology | Tyler, TX (Active TX License Required) ### Why This Role

Assignment Details Coverage Dates: October 15–21, 2026 Setting: Inpatient hospital and GI lab Coverage Type: Scheduled procedures plus beeper call Patient Volume: Approximately 5–7 patients per shift Call Volume: Approximately 4–6 patients Admissions: Approximately 4–6 Rounding: Assigned and unassigned patients Department Size: Seven beds Trauma Designation: Level I EMR: Epic Credentialing: Approximately 30–60 days Temporary Privileges: Available Nearest Airport: Dallas Fort Worth International Airport ### Requirements Board-Certified Gastroenterologist Gastroenterology fellowship training Active Texas medical license Current ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, and BLS Current ERCP and EUS proficiency Broad upper- and lower-endoscopy experience Availability for the full October 15–21 block ### Clinical Details Perform scheduled colonoscopies and other GI procedures Evaluate inpatient consultations from the prior night Provide follow-up procedures in the GI suite as indicated Perform diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP and EUS Perform upper endoscopy with biopsy, hemostasis, foreign-body removal, variceal injection, and PEG placement Perform colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy Provide esophageal dilation and manometry interpretation Perform liver biopsy and manage acute GI bleeding Collaborate with hospitalists, one to two RNs, two NPs, and one PA-C No APP supervision, resident supervision, or teaching responsibilities
