Position Requirements:
• Board Certified in Gastroenterology – Required
• Board certification must be in the specialty listed on the assignment
• Active Georgia license required to bid
• ACLS required
• BLS required
• ATLS required
• ABLS required
• PALS required
• Epic experience
• Provider must be available for the requested coverage
Responsibilities:
• Inpatient GI coverage
• Round on assigned patients
• Perform admissions
• Provide gastroenterology management for hospitalized patients
• Provide GI procedures as clinically required
Patient Volume:
Approximately 20 patients per shift
Assigned-patient rounding
Procedures:

• Upper GI Endoscopy
• Upper GI Endoscopy with biopsy
• Foreign body removal
• Fulguration of bleeders
• Injection of varices
• ERCP – diagnostic
• ERCP – therapeutic
• PEG placement
• Esophageal dilation/manometry
• Esophageal manometry interpretation
• Small bowel biopsy
• Lower GI Endoscopy
• Flexible sigmoidoscopy
• Rigid sigmoidoscopy
• Colonoscopy
• Colonoscopy with biopsy
• Colonoscopy with polypectomy
• Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
• Liver biopsy
• Sengstaken/Blakemore tube insertion and management
