Aya Locums is working with the University of Vermont Health Network on a Gastroenterology locum need in Plattsburgh, New York. This is a hospital-based assignment with a mix of inpatient consultation work, inpatient and outpatient endoscopy, and scheduled call coverage.
The core weekday schedule is Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with Friday and Saturday 24-hour call coverage. Additional call or weekend coverage may be needed depending on the final schedule.
The clinical work includes inpatient Gastroenterology consultations, general inpatient and outpatient endoscopy, and management of a broad range of GI conditions. Current volume is approximately 4-5 new inpatient consults per day. The physician will have APP support for inpatient consultations along with dedicated nursing and ancillary support.
The client is looking for a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist with at least three years of experience. Hospital-based and previous locum experience are preferred, and familiarity with Epic is helpful. An active New York license is not required at the outset - the client is willing to assist with licensing for the right physician.
Compensation is negotiable based on the physician, schedule, clinical responsibilities and call structure. I am much more interested in learning what rate would make the assignment worthwhile for you than assuming a number before we have a conversation.
