Gastroenterologist – New York

We are seeking a Board Certified Gastroenterologist for an ongoing locum opportunity in Cooperstown, New York. This assignment is primarily call coverage with limited onsite weekend responsibilities, a manageable inpatient volume, and no clinic obligations.

Assignment Details

  • November 13–19, 2026
  • December 4–8, 2026
  • December 16–17, 2026
• Ongoing coverage every fourth week
• Open-ended assignment
• Urgent need

Schedule

• Friday 8:00 AM – Friday 8:00 AM
• Call coverage only
• No clinic responsibilities
• Telephone call coverage
• Procedures and inpatient consults: 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
• APC takes first call during weekday day shifts
• Attending takes first call on weekends
• Weekend onsite presence required only for urgent procedures

Practice Setting

• Hospital-based Gastroenterology
• Epic EMR

Clinical Responsibilities

• Inpatient Gastroenterology consults
• Endoscopy
• Colonoscopy
• Urgent GI procedures as needed
• Approximately 3 inpatient consults per day
• Average of 8 daytime procedures
• Limited weekend procedural volume

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Gastroenterology
• Active New York medical license required
• Endoscopy and colonoscopy proficiency required

Credentialing

• Approximately 90 days
• Orientation must be completed prior to the first scheduled shift
