Locum Gastroenterologist – Washington – Inpatient, Outpatient & 24-Hour Call - (DM)

Schedule: Day Shifts + 24-Hour Call

We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens opportunity providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient GI services. The role includes clinic, endoscopy, hospital rounding, consultations, procedures, and 24-hour call coverage.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient Gastroenterology coverage.
• Provide hospital consultations and rounding.
• Perform inpatient and outpatient GI procedures.
• Provide outpatient clinic coverage.
• Perform procedures at the outpatient endoscopy center.
• Participate in 24-hour call coverage.
• Manage adult patients age 18+.
• Provide admissions and follow-up care as required.
• Work collaboratively with another Gastroenterologist within the practice.
• Document patient care using Epic EMR.

Patient Volume

• Clinic: Approximately 16 patients/day
• Outpatient Endoscopy: Approximately 14–16 procedures/day
• Hospital Census: Varies

Qualifications

• MD/DO required.
• Board Certification required.
• Gastroenterology experience required.
• Washington medical license required by start date.
• Candidates who are pending licensure may be considered for presentation, provided the license is obtained before the assignment begins.
• Must be proficient with Epic EMR.
• Must be comfortable providing inpatient and outpatient GI care.
• Prior locum/travel experience preferred.

Working Hours

Day Shift:
8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Call:
24-hour call coverage

Call responsibilities include:

• Hospital consultations
• Inpatient rounding
• Inpatient GI procedures
• Outpatient GI procedures as applicable
• Weekend/evening/night coverage
• 4 hours of gratis included with call coverage.
• Start date as soon as credentialed.
