We are seeking an experienced Gastroenterologist with ERCP expertise for a 6-month locum assignment in Bellingham, Washington. This opportunity includes both inpatient and outpatient coverage, with privileges required for both clinic and hospital settings. The physician will provide gastroenterology consultations, procedures, rounding, and admissions while working alongside an established GI team.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform ERCP and other advanced GI procedures.
• Conduct inpatient rounding and admissions.
• Provide hospital consultations and manage adult GI patients.
• Provide coverage in the outpatient clinic and endoscopy setting.
• Manage approximately 16 clinic patients/day and 14–16 endoscopy patients/day.
• Participate in 24-hour hospitalist/call coverage.
• Perform gastroenterology procedures within the scope of privileges.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic EMR.
• Collaborate with other Gastroenterologists and hospital teams.
Qualifications
• Board Certified in Gastroenterology.
• Active Washington Medical License preferred; IMLC accepted.
• ACLS certification required.
• Demonstrated ERCP experience required.
• Minimum 50 successful ERCP procedures within the past 2 years required for maintenance of privileges.
• Required GI and ERCP case logs from the past 24 months.
• Additional documentation may be required for advanced procedures such as double-balloon enteroscopy or capsule endoscopy.
• Must be comfortable providing both inpatient and outpatient GI care.
• Clean credentialing file preferred.
Working Hours
• Assignment Duration: Approximately 6 months
• Standard Schedule: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Coverage: 24-hour call/hospitalist shifts, including weekdays and weekends
• Alternative 8–9 hour daytime shifts may be available for ambulatory clinic/endoscopy coverage.
