• As a key specialist embedded in the community, you will bridge advanced specialty care and rural medicine, establishing a dedicated local GI presence so residents of Huron County can access essential diagnostic and preventative care close to home.
• In this role, you will manage a broad spectrum of acute and chronic disorders affecting the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, and biliary system. Your practice will balance outpatient clinical management with advanced hands-on endoscopic procedures: - Routine Endoscopy: Perform standard diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower endoscopies (including colonoscopies and EGDs) to screen for, diagnose, and treat conditions like colorectal cancer, polyps, ulcers, and gastrointestinal bleeding. - Chronic Disease Management: Diagnose and provide long-term care plans for chronic conditions including Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD - Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis), Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Celiac disease, and severe Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). - Hepatobiliary Care: Evaluate and manage patients presenting with liver diseases (cirrhosis, hepatitis, fatty liver disease) and pancreaticobiliary disorders. - Preventative Screenings: Lead local colorectal cancer screening initiatives, providing a vital preventative service to an underserved rural population. - Care Coordination: Coordinate closely with local primary care providers for referrals, while maintaining a seamless pathway to groups tertiary facilities in Saginaw for patients requiring highly specialized inpatient or surgical interventions.
