Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterology Physician (MD/DO) for a locum opportunity at an Acute Care Hospital in Springfield, Oregon. This inpatient-only position focuses on the management of adult gastroenterology patients, including daily rounding, new consultations, and advanced endoscopic procedures such as ERCP. The provider will work independently as the primary inpatient Gastroenterologist while collaborating with specialty consultants and outpatient GI colleagues. Night call coverage is required.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform ERCP and other diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
• Conduct daily patient rounds and evaluate new inpatient consultations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with specialty consultants and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic EMR.
• Participate in scheduled day shifts and required night call coverage.
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care in an acute care setting.
Qualifications
• Active Oregon Medical License or willingness to obtain one based on start date.
• Current ACLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of Gastroenterology experience required.
• ERCP proficiency is mandatory.
• Recent Epic EMR experience required.
• Documentation of clinical Gastroenterology activity within the previous 24 months (case logs or training logs if applicable).
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills.
Working Hours
• Night call coverage required as scheduled.
• Schedule determined based on facility needs.
• Assignment duration: 26 weeks.
• Start date: As soon as credentialing is completed.
