Gastroenterologist – Tennessee

We are seeking a Board Certified Gastroenterologist for an ongoing inpatient locum opportunity in Northeast Tennessee. This assignment offers 24-hour call coverage with a Monday-to-Monday schedule, a collaborative APP model, and the opportunity to perform both general GI and ERCP procedures across two hospitals.

Assignment Details

• Start: October 2026
• Ongoing coverage
• Multiple dates available through 2027
• 24-hour call coverage
• Monday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM
• Approximately 8–10 hours onsite daily
• Monday–Friday onsite with weekend call
• Night call is primarily phone consults with rare onsite callbacks

Practice Setting

• Inpatient Gastroenterology
• Coverage at two hospitals
• Endoscopy Suite and Main OR
• Epic EMR
• Olympus endoscopy equipment

Clinical Responsibilities

• General inpatient Gastroenterology consults
• ERCP procedures required
• Average 5–6 procedures per day while on service
• Adult patient population (occasional adolescent patients)
• Work 1:1 with an Advanced Practice Provider
• Supported by dedicated Endoscopy and OR nursing staff

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Gastroenterology
• Active Tennessee License or IMLC
• Tennessee DEA required
• Tennessee CSR preferred
• BLS and ACLS required
• Strong ERCP experience required
• Epic experience preferred
• Clean background preferred

Credentialing

• Approximately 60–90 days
• IMLC accepted
• All travel reimbursed
