An acute care hospital in Richmond, Virginia is seeking a Gastroenterologist for ongoing weekend call coverage beginning September 28, 2026.
The preferred coverage block runs from Friday at 5:00 p.m. through Monday at 7:00 a.m. The physician will provide 24-hour call coverage each day with approximately six hours on site, typically beginning around 7:00 a.m.
Responsibilities may include inpatient consultations, rounding, GI emergencies, and procedures as clinically appropriate. ERCP experience is strongly preferred, although General Gastroenterologists who do not perform ERCP may also be considered as the hospital expands its weekend call panel.
Assignment highlights include:
- Weekend-only coverage
- Friday evening through Monday morning
- Approximately six on-site hours each day
- Ongoing PRN need
- Multiple physicians may share the schedule
- Board certification required
- Active Virginia license required at submission
- Approximately 90 days needed for credentialing
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
