We are seeking a Gastroenterologist for locum tenens spot coverage in Bristol, Tennessee. This is a high-volume Acute Care Hospital inpatient role covering GI consults and procedures, including ERCP, with 24-hour call. Shifts are first come, first served with open dates in 2026 and 2027. Please see below for more information.

  • Bristol Regional Medical Center (~348 beds); inpatient only
  • 24-hour call (Monday 7am EST to Monday 7am EST); provider onsite ~8-10 hours/day
  • Working 1:1 with an APP
  • Well experienced in all general GI and ERCP cases and procedures required (no EUS)
  • ~5-6 procedures per 24-hour call day
  • Adults (may be some younger than 18)
  • Epic EMR (facility will not train); Olympus equipment
  • Spot coverage; open dates available in 2026 and 2027

Job Responsibilities

- Perform general GI and ERCP cases and procedures
- Provide 24-hour inpatient call coverage
- Handle GI consults and after-hours phone consults
- Complete ~5-6 procedures per 24-hour call day
- Work 1:1 with an APP

Qualifications

- Board certified in Gastroenterology
- ERCP required (no EUS)
- Active Tennessee license or IMLC required
- Tennessee DEA required; Tennessee CSR preferred
- ACLS and BLS required
- Epic EMR experience required (facility will not train)
- Clean background with limited malpractice

Working Hours

Schedule: 24-hour call spot coverage (Monday 7am EST - Monday 7am EST); shifts are first come, first served with open dates in 2026 and 2027. Provider onsite approximately 8-10 hours per day. Coverage: 24 Hour On Call. Start Date: October 2026. Assignment length: 13 weeks (spot coverage).
