Job description
We are seeking a Gastroenterology physician for a locum tenens position in Anchorage, Alaska. Please see below for more information.
- Facility: Alaska Native Medical Center (Acute Care Hospital)
- Day shift, 8 hours (8:00a - 4:00p) plus 24-hour weekend and weeknight call
- General GI scope (ERCP and EUS handled by general surgeons, not required)
- Volume: 10-12 clinic patients per day; ~15 procedures on full endo days
- Support: 2 RNs, 2 schedulers, 2 CMAs, plus an APP
- Cerner EMR
- Specific coverage dates needed (Aug through Dec 2026)
- Start date: September 27, 2026
Job Responsibilities
• Perform endoscopy procedures (~15 on full endo days)
• Take 24-hour weekend and weeknight call
• Work with support team of RNs, schedulers, CMAs, and an APP
• Chart in Cerner EMR
Qualifications
• Active Alaska medical license required (willing to license)
• CV and NPDB self-query report required with all presentations
• 3 references required as part of offer process
