Job description
We are seeking a Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens position in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. This is a full-time role at an acute care hospital with APP support. Please see below for more information.
- Acute care hospital (Highlands ARH Regional Medical Center)
- General GI and mid-level/moderate-complexity ERCP
- Average 12-14 procedures per day
- APP support provided
- Meditech EMR
- Coverage duration: 12 months; client strongly prefers one consistent provider
Job Responsibilities
• Perform mid-level/moderate-complexity ERCP
• Perform specialty procedures including stent placement, argon plasma coagulation, biopsies, polypectomy, esophageal dilation, foreign body removal, PEG, and non-variceal hemostasis
• Average 12-14 procedures per day
• Share offsite call with the other provider (response within 30 min for emergency consults; called in 1-2x/week, most often for active bleed)
Qualifications
• Active Kentucky license (willing to license eligible candidates)
• Competency in ERCP (mid-level / moderate complexity)
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills highly preferred
• Credentialing timeframe: approximately 3 months (includes Medicare & Medicaid enrollment)
