Job description
We are seeking a Gastroenterology physician for a locum tenens position in Prestonsburg, KY. This opportunity provides comprehensive gastrointestinal care including diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, ERCP, and emergency GI consultations in a community hospital setting. Job Responsibilities
Perform upper endoscopies (EGD), colonoscopies, and flexible sigmoidoscopies
Perform esophageal and duodenal stent placement
Perform ERCP for diagnostic and therapeutic indications
Perform esophageal dilation and foreign body removal via endoscopy
Perform argon plasma coagulation
Obtain biopsies from esophagus, stomach, small bowel, and colon
Perform colonoscopy with and without polypectomy
Manage non-variceal hemostasis in upper and lower gastrointestinal bleeding
Perform percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) placement
Provide after-hours emergency GI consultation coverage (offsite, 30 min response for emergencies)
Qualifications
Kentucky State License (IMLC Accepted)
DEA
Working Hours
After-hours call: Offsite, response within 30 minutes for emergencies and 12 hours for routine
Typically called in 1-2 times per week after hours
