INTERNAL MEDICINE – GASTROENTEROLOGY
Employment Type: Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY
This role supports The Department in providing comprehensive gastroenterology care across outpatient, inpatient, and procedural settings. Responsibilities include evaluation and management of gastrointestinal conditions, performance of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, and participation in a structured call rotation. The position offers an established patient base, strong multidisciplinary support, and access to a centralized digestive care facility designed for efficiency and patient comfort.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine – Gastroenterology
• Completion of residency training in internal medicine
• Fellowship training in gastroenterology
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Michigan
• Commitment to patient-centered, team-based care
COMPETENCIES
• Endoscopic proficiency including colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, and ERCP
• Skill in managing gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions across outpatient and inpatient settings
• Ability to collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and clinical staff
• Familiarity with industry-standard EMR systems and procedural documentation
• Capacity to support a structured call rotation and high-volume referral network
WORK SETTING & ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment: Clinic/Private Practice; Hospital; Inpatient; Outpatient
• Established gastroenterology team with physicians, APPs, RNs, MAs, and embedded pharmacy support
• Centralized digestive care center with private procedure rooms and recovery areas
• Advanced diagnostic and procedural technology supporting a broad GI practice
• Predictable outpatient schedule with Monday–Thursday clinic hours
• Shared call rotation with partners, transitioning to 1:6 as the team expands
