Description
We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity beginning July 2026. This hospital-based assignment includes a combination of scheduled procedures, inpatient consults, rounding, clinic coverage, and call responsibilities. Providers will work alongside onsite anesthesia support and additional clinical staff in a collaborative environment serving adult patients.
This assignment requires coverage for designated week-long blocks throughout the year, with ongoing opportunities available.

- Procedures primarily scheduled in morning blocks
- Inpatient rounding and consults performed in afternoons
- ER consult coverage required
- No EUS or ERCP procedures required
Procedure Expectations:
- Typically 4–5 scheduled procedures daily plus add-ons
- Providers assigned only to procedures may complete 8–9 cases per day
- Clinic visits scheduled approximately every 40 minutes during office sessions

Job Responsibilities
- Perform gastroenterology procedures in hospital setting
- Manage inpatient consults and hospital rounding
- Provide outpatient clinic coverage as scheduled
- Respond to ER consults and GI-related inpatient needs
- Participate in weeknight beeper call and weekend 24-hour call coverage
- Document patient care using Epic EMR
- Collaborate with anesthesia and multidisciplinary support teams
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
- Active Pennsylvania license required or IMLC LOQ in hand
- DEA required
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Ability to manage inpatient and procedural gastroenterology cases independently
Working Hours
- Start Date: July 13, 2026
- Ongoing assignment
- Coverage need: Approximately 2 weeks per month
Coverage Blocks Include:
- July 13 – July 18
- September 28 – October 3
- November 2 – November 7
- December 20 – December 28
Schedule Details:
- Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Weeknight beeper call required
- Saturday/Sunday: 24-hour call (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
- Morning procedures generally scheduled 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
- Inpatient rounding and consults completed in afternoons
Credentialing timeframe:
- Approximately 90 days
