Schedule:
- Weekly coverage: Monday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM
- Onsite coverage ~8–10 hours per day (Monday–Friday)
- Includes weekend coverage and night call
Call Required: Yes – 24-hour call during coverage week - Primarily beeper call with limited in-person callbacks
Clinical Details
- Setting: Hospital (BRMC – 348 beds; HVMC – 345 beds)
- Locations: Coverage at two facilities (BRMC & HVMC) each week
- Patient Population: Primarily adults (occasional patients under 18)
- Patient Volume:
- ~5–6 procedures per day during call coverage
- ~7–8 procedures per day in endoscopy suite
- Variable consult volume
- Procedures: General GI procedures and ERCP required (EUS flexibility available)
- Support Staff: APP (1:1 support), OR staff, and endoscopy nurses
- Additional Responsibilities: Inpatient consults and occasional rounding
- Equipment: Olympus endoscopy equipment
- EMR: Epic (preferred)
Additional Details
- Block time available in endoscopy suite
- Rare in-person call backs; majority of after-hours responsibilities are phone consults
