• We are seeking a skilled Gastroenterology Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in Lewisburg, PA.
• This role offers a balanced mix of procedures, inpatient care, and occasional clinic responsibilities.
• Work in a supportive hospital setting with anesthesia services onsite and strong clinical infrastructure.
• Flexible scheduling with 2 weeks of coverage per month and ongoing contract potential.
• Ideal for physicians comfortable with procedures and inpatient consults (no ERCP/EUS required).

Job Responsibilities
• Perform endoscopic procedures (average 4–5 scheduled daily, up to 8–9 on procedure-only days)
• Conduct inpatient rounds and manage GI consults
• Provide outpatient clinic care when scheduled (half-day sessions)
• Respond to emergency consults and perform add-on procedures as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with anesthesia team and support staff
Qualifications
• Active Pennsylvania Medical License (Required)
• Valid DEA License
• Minimum 1 year of gastroenterology experience
• Comfortable with general GI procedures (no ERCP/EUS required)
• Clean credentialing file for expedited processing (~90 days)
Working Hours
• Weekday Schedule: 8-hour shifts (M-F)
• Procedure Time: ~7:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Wed–Fri, occasional Monday)
• Inpatient rounding and consults in afternoons
• Weekend rounding and procedures as needed
• Coverage Dates Include:
• July 13 – July 18
• August 24 – August 29
• August 31 – September 7
• December 28 – January 4
Skills
• Strong endoscopic and diagnostic skills
• Ability to manage inpatient consults and ER cases
• Efficient workflow management between procedures and rounding
• Excellent communication and teamwork
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR system
