Position: Gastroenterology (GI) Physician (On-Site, On-Call, Callback)
Location: Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center
Schedule:
VA Business Hours: The normal facility hours are as follows, except for all federal holidays.
7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (Monday through Friday)
8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday through Friday)
Clinic Schedule:
7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (Monday through Friday)
8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday through Friday)
Operating Room Schedule:
6:30 AM to 2:00 PM (Monday through Friday)
7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (Monday through Friday)
7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (Monday through Friday)
8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday through Friday)
Off-hours Coverage: Must be available for on-call and call-back coverage during all hours when the facility clinic is closed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
On-call Coverage: Physicians on-call are not required to be at the facility at all times. Physicians on-call must be available for phone consultations with VA residents and physicians within 15 minutes of receiving a notification or phone call requesting a phone consultation.
Weekend on-call: it is from 4:00 PM Friday to 7:30 AM Monday and represents three (3) call days.
Call-back Coverage (unscheduled clinic hours):
Must be available for unscheduled on-site clinical hours.
Must acknowledge a call or notification requesting call-back coverage within 15 minutes of receiving the call or notification.
Must be on-site at the facility within 60 minutes of receiving a phone call requesting their presence at the facility.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property. All licenses held by the key personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses.
- Shall be Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Gastroenterology and be currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency. All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be always kept up to date.
