Job description
The South Texas VA Health Care System is seeking a Gastroenterology Physician for the Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans Hospital in San Antonio, TX. This intermittent role involves diagnosing and treating digestive organ diseases, including conditions like abdominal pain, ulcers, and cancer. The physician will also perform complex diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
Job Responsibilities
Treat conditions such as abdominal pain, ulcers, diarrhea, cancer and jaundice
Perform complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using endoscopes to see internal organs
Qualifications
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
Completion of residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology and Hepatology (Preferred)
Recent experience providing in- and outpatient care of GI and hepatology patients in a complexity level 1a facility (Preferred)
Proficient in general endoscopic procedures (Preferred)
