A Gastroenterology locum opportunity is available in Williamsport, PA, offering a structured schedule, strong APP support, and a mix of inpatient rounding and outpatient procedures. This assignment is ideal for physicians comfortable working independently and managing call responsibilities.

Assignment Overview

• Start Date: May 1, 2026
• Setting: Hospital-based with outpatient endoscopy
• Schedule:
  • 24-hour call coverage (Friday 5:00 PM – Friday 5:00 PM)
  • 1:4 call rotation or up to 3 weeks per month
• Minimum Availability: 1 week (7 consecutive days) per month
• Estimated Shifts: 14 per month
• Call: Yes (30-minute response time required)

Clinical Responsibilities

• Morning hospital rounding starting at 8:00 AM
• Perform 4–6 outpatient endoscopy procedures daily
• Weekday workflow:
  • Collaborate with PA at 8:00 AM for patient review and rounding
  • Complete scheduled procedures
  • Remain on call throughout the day and evening
• Weekend coverage:
  • Call coverage with hospital rounding based on patient volume
• Work independently during nights and weekends

Practice Details

• EMR: Epic
• APP support:
  • PAs are first call
  • APP coverage: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (no weekends)
• Average admissions while on call: 8–10
• Candidate will work solo for portions of coverage

Procedures & Case Mix

• EGD
• Colonoscopy (screening and diagnostic)
• Advanced procedures (if credentialed):
  • EUS
  • ERCP

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
• Active Pennsylvania license and PA DEA required
• IMLC not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Must submit NPDB report (dated within 2 years)
• Must be fully licensed at time of submission (no licensing candidates)
