Gastroenterologist - Tucson VA Medical Center!
Location: Tucson, Arizona
Position Information:
- The Tucson VA Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Gastroenterologist to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to focus on comprehensive patient care, including the opportunity to be a part of the faculty of The University of Arizona Medical School. The practice structure includes a collaborative team environment consisting of physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff who work together to provide excellent care to our Veterans. Proficiency in standard endoscopy procedures is expected. There is an opportunity to perform advanced endoscopy procedures if it fits the candidate's interests and expertise.
- Excellent facilities and equipment are in place. Our GI service provides some remote care through telehealth and video visits; medical subspecialists are not required to travel to our affiliated clinics.
- There are numerous opportunities for clinical research and collaboration in research projects.
Job Responsibilities
Qualifications
• Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine
• Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in all the US States
• Must be Board Certified in Gastroenterology by the ABIM (American Board of Internal Medicine)
• Preference will be given to candidates who are board certified or recently board eligible in gastroenterology.
Visa Sponsorship: This position is open to qualified non-U.S. citizens if no suitable U.S. citizen is identified. We welcome applications from J-1 visa candidates who meet the qualifications for this role.
Working Hours
Work-life balance is a key priority at the Tucson VA Medical Center. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with minimal on-call responsibilities, allowing you ample time for personal and family commitments. On-call duties are shared equitably among the team, ensuring a manageable workload and minimizing the risk of burnout
