Job description Gastroenterology opening in Lewiston, ME Located in Lewiston, ME - Portland 35 miles, Boston 140 miles Full-time; Permanent Hospital-Employed Overview: * Seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologist * Join established and growing digestive health program * Collaborative environment with hospitalists, surgeons, oncology, radiology, and primary care teams * Mix of inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology practice * Patient-centered care within integrated healthcare system --- Clinical Details: * Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology care * Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including: EGD, Colonoscopy, Biopsy and polypectomy, Hemostasis and dilation and PEG placement * Manage conditions including IBD, GERD, liver disease, pancreatic disorders, and GI bleeding * Participate in shared call schedule * Maintain documentation within electronic medical record systems * Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives --- Compensation & Benefits: * Competitive base salary with productivity incentives * Sign-on bonus * Relocation assistance * Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance * 401(k) retirement plan * CME allowance and paid time off * Malpractice provided with tail coverage * Potential student loan repayment assistance --- Requirements: * MD or DO * Completion of Internal Medicine residency * Fellowship training in Gastroenterology * Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology * Eligible for Maine medical license * DEA registration * BLS and ACLS certification --- About the Area: Lewiston is located in central Maine along the Androscoggin River and offers a balance of small-city living with access to outdoor recreation.
