Job description
We are recruiting for 24-hour call coverage with an ongoing need through 2026. This 399-bed acute tertiary care hospital is located in a beautiful waterside community and offers a collaborative environment with hospitalist support and nearby clinic access.
-Schedule: Monday 7:00 AM – Friday 7:00 PM (No weekend call).
-Location: 1900 Columbus Ave, Bay City, MI 48708.
-Team: Hospitalist support and 2 colorectal surgeons in the community.
-Charting: Reverse billing system (Provider must use Doc Time).

On Call (Daily): 24-hour rate to include 8 hours gratis (Mon–Thu).

Friday Shift: 12-hour rate (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) to include 4 hours of patient contact.

Callback Rate: Applied after gratis hours are completed.

Orientation: 1/2 of the hourly rate for training/modules.
Job Responsibilities
-Night call required Monday through Thursday.
-Manage inpatient GI needs and consultations.
-Perform required GI procedures in a hospital setting.
Qualifications
-Procedures: ERCP proficiency is [REQUIRED].
-Licensure: Active Michigan License [REQUIRED] (IMLC accepted only if dates are 60+ days out with proof of LOQ).
-Certifications: DEA [REQUIRED] at time of start.
-Geography: Local providers are [PREFERRED] (Flights are not covered).
-Credentialing: No malpractice history [REQUIRED]; NPDB self-query pulled within 30 days [REQUIRED].
Working Hours
-Availability: Ongoing through 2026 (Specific blocks like July 27–31 and Dec 28–Jan 1).
Skills
-Ability to manage 24-hour call cycles independently.
-Comfort with "small town" hospital dynamics and local community collaboration.
