Locum Gastroenterologists Needed in Michigan!

ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking Gastroenterologists to provide 24-hour call coverage. The role supports inpatient GI services with hospitalist collaboration and requires proficiency in ERCP procedures. Coverage needs are ongoing through 2026 in a community setting that offers a small-town environment with access to larger city amenities.

Dates & Schedule

• Coverage Type: Call coverage (no weekend call)

• Schedule Pattern:

  • Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (24-hour call)

  • Friday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour shift)

• Coverage Periods:

  • July 27, 2026 – July 31, 2026

  • December 28, 2026 – January 1, 2027

• Ongoing coverage needs through 2026

Job Details & Responsibilities

• Provide gastroenterology call coverage for inpatient and emergency cases.

• Perform ERCP procedures as part of required GI services.

• Manage GI consults and patient care during call periods.

• Coordinate with hospitalists and local specialists, including two colorectal surgeons in the community.

• Utilize DocTime system for clock-in/clock-out due to reverse billing (timesheets not accepted).

• Participate in orientation/training modules prior to starting.

• Deliver patient care during Friday shifts including approximately 4 hours of patient contact.

• Respond to call-backs after included gratis hours.

• GI clinic located less than 0.5 mile from the hospital.

• Community offers waterfront setting with small-town feel and city amenities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Clinical & Professional Requirements

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology (or truly Board Eligible).

• ERCP experience required.

• Active Michigan medical license (IMLC accepted if start date is 60+ days out with LOQ proof).

• Active DEA registration at start date.

• Clean malpractice history (required for credentialing).

• NPDB self-query completed within 30 days of submission.
