Position Summary
Physician-owned gastroenterology practice in Durango, Colorado, is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterologist. This role offers immediate procedural volume, no ramp period, strong earning potential, and a clear path to ownership in both the practice and a physician-owned surgical hospital.

a physician-led GI practice partnered with a locally owned surgical hospital. This practice is built around clinical autonomy, efficiency, and long-term physician sustainability. This is a growth-driven opportunity supported by established anesthesia, nursing, and endoscopy teams, strong referrals, and significant unmet procedural demand. The clinic has a 2-3 month backlog, with 3,000+ open-access colonoscopy recalls. Join a team of 2 gastroenterologists and 3 experienced GI Physician Assistants.
Experienced Physician Track: Join with immediate clinical autonomy and no productivity micromanagement. Providers have the ability to tailor scope mix, clinic load, and schedule from day one, and have a near-term path to equity.
Early-Career Physician Track: You’ll have a structured transition into full volume with experienced partner support. Benefit from a direct mentorship from a Mayo Clinic-trained gastroenterologist and a 15+ year experienced GI Physician Assistant.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient gastroenterology care and endoscopic procedures
- Diagnose and manage a broad range of GI conditions
- Perform colonoscopy and upper endoscopy
- Collaborate with GI physician assistants, anesthesia, nursing, and endoscopy staff
- Participate in practice growth as desired
- No mandatory call coverage (optional paid hospital call available)

Compensation & Benefits
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Completion of Gastroenterology fellowship
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology
- Eligible for Colorado medical licensure
- Strong communication skill
- $450,000 guaranteed compensation in Year 1 plus signing bonus
- Uncapped productivity upside with no ramp period
- Productivity-based compensation model beginning Year 2
