Location: Plattsburgh, New York
Setting: Inpatient Coverage & Elective Endoscopy
Assignment: 1 Week Per Month – Ongoing
Facility: Level III Trauma Center
Schedule & Coverage
- Approximately one week of coverage per month
• Typical hours: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Ideal schedule Monday–Sunday
• Monday–Thursday: inpatient coverage and elective procedures
• Friday–Sunday: 24-hour call coverage on select days
• Flexible scheduling structure
Clinical Responsibilities
- Perform endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures
• Manage inpatient consults and follow-up care
• Provide consultative GI services to the hospital
Patient Volume
- Approximately 40 procedures per week (elective + urgent/emergent)
• 10–15 inpatient consults
Typical Daily Flow
- 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM: procedures
• 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM: inpatient rounding and consults
Support Structure
- Nurse Practitioner / APP support
• Minimal oversight of inpatient NP
EMR
- Epic
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
