Medical Center is seeking 1 Locum Gastroenterologist for hospital call coverage starting November 23, 2026. This is a solo locum assignment (no other GI on site) focused on inpatient consults, procedures, and 24-hour call coverage. General GI experience required; ERCP highly preferred (1–2 ERCPs per week). No clinic responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform hospital rounding (approx. 5–6 patients/day)
• Manage 1–2 inpatient consults per day
• Perform 1–2 endoscopic procedures per day
• Cover inpatient GI emergencies and acute GI bleeds
• No supervision of other providers
• Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation
Qualifications
• State License (Pending accepted; IMLC accepted) – REQUIRED
• BLS & DEA – REQUIRED
• Self-Query NPDB (within 30 days) – REQUIRED
• Clean Malpractice/Background – Preferred
• Case logs required at presentation & offer
Working Hours
• 8 hours in-house rounding/procedures daily
• November 23–29 (ending morning of Nov 30)
• December 23–January 3 (ending morning of Jan 4)
• Estimated 6 shifts
• Weekend & holiday call required
Skills
• ERCP proficiency (highly preferred)
• Acute GI bleed management
• Independent inpatient practice
• Emergency response capability
• EPIC EMR proficiency
• Strong procedural skills
