Facility:
This facility is a high-volume hospital with a comprehensive gastroenterology department. As a Level 2 trauma center, the hospital offers advanced medical services to the Tampa Bay community with modern technology and equipment to support specialized GI procedures.
Opportunity:
Physician - Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology
Job Details:
• Provide 24-hour call coverage with in-house presence during the day and beeper with call-back after hours
• Work Friday, Saturday and Sunday for four consecutive weekends with availability upon completion of credentialing
• Handle 15-25 patient encounters per shift
• ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) skills required - both diagnostic and therapeutic
• Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) skills required
• Perform upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, and injection of varices
• Conduct PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) procedures
• Perform esophageal dilatation/manometry and interpretation
• Conduct small bowel biopsies
• Perform lower GI endoscopy including flexible and rigid sigmoidoscopy
• Complete colonoscopies with biopsy and polyp excision
• Perform liver biopsies
• Must be skilled in insertion/management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube
• Board certification required
• Active Florida medical license required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Fellowship trained (3 years)
• Credentialing timeframe approximately 30 days
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included. Paid Travel and Lodging.
