Saint Peter's University Hospital, Inc. seeks Physician-Gastroenterology for its New Brunswick, NJ locations.
Duties: Independently diagnose and treat a wide range of disorders affecting the gastrointestinal system, including conditions of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, pancreas, liver, and biliary tract. Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, such as colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, esophagogastroduodenoscopies (EGDs), duodenoscopies, and gastroscopies. Prescribe medications and recommend dietary and lifestyle modifications based on each patient's condition. Refer patients to dietitians and other specialists as necessary. Perform minor surgical procedures when indicated. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and imaging studies. Participate in clinical research to advance gastrointestinal medicine and contribute to the development of best practices. Maintain board certification and licensure through ongoing participation in continuing medical education (CME) programs, workshops, and conferences. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage patients with chronic and complex gastrointestinal conditions. Provide follow-up care, monitor treatment outcomes, and adjust care plans as needed. Mentor medical residents and fellows in the provision of patient care. Provide on-call weekend coverage every 6 weeks.
Requirements:
Must possess a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy degree or foreign equivalent. Must have successfully completed an ACGME or AOA accredited residency in Internal Medicine. Must have completed an ACGME or AOA accredited fellowship in Gastroenterology. Must hold a valid Medical License in the State of New Jersey. Salary is $400,000 per year to $500,000 per year; full time. This position is eligible for incentives pursuant to Saint Peter's University Hospital, Inc.'s Employee Referral Program.
