Atlantic General Hospital is seeking one Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for a long-term locum tenens assignment beginning May 2026 with the potential to extend through the end of the year and beyond.
This is a procedures-focused role with inpatient responsibilities and call coverage. The hospital is looking for a full-time locum only and will not split the schedule.

Clinical Details

Procedures: 14–16 procedures per day

No outpatient clinic

Call & rounding required

Call: Beeper call, approx. 1:4

~15% callback rate

15-minute response time

Phone consults and occasional admissions

Skills & Procedures
-
Upper & lower endoscopy (diagnostic and therapeutic)
-
Colonoscopy (with biopsy and polypectomy)
-
ERCP (diagnostic & therapeutic)- preferred and paid at a premium
-
PEG placement
-
Esophageal dilation/manometry
-
Small bowel biopsy
-
Management of GI bleeding and variceal injections
Schedule Expectations

Monday–Friday procedures
-
One weekend of call per month
-
Full-time commitment only
Staffing & Support

RN support available

No supervision of APPs required

No resident or teaching responsibilities
Requirements
-
Board Certified in Gastroenterology

Active Maryland license or IMLC
-
BLS required
-
Estimated credentialing timeframe: ~60 days
