General Gastroenterologist opening – Conway, SC 10 miles from Myrtle Beach Position Details

  • FT, permanent
  • Seeking General Gastroenterologist to practice within a busy Digestive Health service line
  • ERCP/EUS available, but not a requirement
  • Mix of lab and clinic responsibilities (approximately 80% lab / 20% clinic)
  • Consultation services only for inpatient coverage
  • Call schedule: 1:4 currently, advancing to 1:6
  • Team structure: - 4 physicians - 3 APPs - Inpatient NP joining February 2026
  • Strong demand with 3+ week wait times
  • Single-site model with ASC, clinic, and hospital integrated for efficiency
Clinical Details Average clinic volume: - 20–25 patients per day in clinic - 11–12 patients per day for procedures Consults and rounding performed by physician on call Endoscopy volume: - 7,000+ cases annually in the endoscopy suite - 180 and 190 HD scopes with brand-new C-Arms Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy EUS: - 236+ cases annually, with continued growth ERCP: - 187+ cases annually, with continued growth Capsule endoscopy (new service line) Management of gastrointestinal diseases including: - Liver disease - Gallbladder disease - Pancreatic disease Facilities & Program Support 4 procedure rooms with 8 pre- and post-operative holding rooms Advanced imaging and diagnostics including: - PET scanning - 64-slice CT - High-definition endoscopy and bronchoscopy Bi-weekly tumor boards for breast, PCC, GI, and ENT Broad surgical referral base including breast, colorectal, and vascular ACGME-accredited training environment with medical students and residency programs Research access through academic alignment with hundreds of available protocols Actively pursuing Commission on Cancer accreditation Benefits Details Base Salary + WRVU Bonuses * Base Salary: $700,000 (based on experience level, increased base to be negotiated) * Income potential $1 million Sign-on Bonus: $50k+ sign-on bonus to assist with the transition.
