This facility is a well-established healthcare provider in East Texas offering comprehensive inpatient services. The hospital features modern equipment, an endoscopy suite with trained GI nursing staff for procedures, and is transitioning from Paragon to EPIC EMR in 2026.
Opportunity:
Physician - Gastroenterology
Job Details:
• Inpatient gastroenterology position with no outpatient responsibilities • Provide in-house and ER consultations with subsequent procedures • Must have ERCP capabilities - this is a critical requirement • Perform standard GI procedures including endoscopies and colonoscopies • Handle approximately 10 patients per day for rounding with procedures as needed • Manage cases including abdominal pain, GI bleed, SBO, food bolus, ulceration, gastritis • Hospital will handle patient admissions • 24-hour call shifts (7am-7am) • Conscious sedation preferred with anesthesia backup available • Must be Board Certified (highly preferred) or Board Eligible • Active Texas medical license required • Completed Gastroenterology residency required • ACLS certification required • Clean malpractice history highly preferred • 30-60 day credentialing timeframe (emergency privileges possible for clean files) • Weekend and on-call coverage required
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
