A facility in Lakewood, CO is looking for GI coverage.

Pay rate:

$4200/ day with 8 hour gratis included

$450/hr call-back after 8 hours.

Orientation $200/hr (typically 4-8 hours long)

Holidays 1.5x regular rates

Local/drive-in candidates are highly preferred but not required. Travel expenses/lodging covered by the client.

Schedule and Availability

All shifts are 24-hour call shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM, ending the following morning.

Confirmed Coverage Dates

February 13–15

July 12–19

August 18 – September 5

Additional ongoing July dates will be presented once the above dates are filled.

Ongoing need is approximately 5–7 days per month, continuing into 2025.

Practice Setting

Inpatient consult-only gastroenterology service

Level I Trauma Center

GI does not admit; service is consult-based only

Patient Volume and Case Mix

Average of 8–10 new consults and follow-ups per day

Approximately 5–8 scopes per day

Patient population includes adult, geriatric, and adolescent patients

Pediatric trauma patients accepted only if age 15+ and ≥50 kg; otherwise pediatrics are not admitted

Clinical Responsibilities and Required Procedures

Scoping and endoscopy

ERCP

EUS

Management of GI bleeds

Evaluation and management of acute GI conditions

Support Services

24/7 intensivists onsite

24/7 hospitalist coverage

24/7 trauma services

No dedicated GI support staff

Documentation EMR: Epic

Credentialing:

Standard credentialing timeframe is approximately 60–90 days.

Emergency privileges may be available within 1–2 weeks for candidates with a clean file.

Travel and Lodging Requirements:

Candidates must stay at one of the facility’s preferred hotels and request the pre-negotiated rate at the time of booking. Travel exception requests must be disclosed at submission and will be denied if not presented upfront.

Requirements:

Board Certified in Gastroenterology – required

Active Colorado medical license or IMLC (LOQ in hand at submission) – required

Active DEA (must remain active for the full assignment duration) – required

Ability to perform ERCP and EUS – required and must be noted at presentation

Availability for at least one of the listed coverage date ranges – required

Clean malpractice and background – required

Self-inquiry NPDB report – required
