Gastroenterologist Opening - Michigan City, IN
- Located 60 miles from Chicago
Position Details
Full-time, permanent
Physician Schedule: 3 - 4 half days in clinic, 3 - 4 half days in surgery, 1 full day off
Physician Call 1:5 - Physician takes 1 full week call (Friday 8:00 a.m. - Friday 8:00 a.m.), no clinic during call week only hospital procedures and front-line call coverage
Call Friday to Thursday, Rotating Holidays
Average Patient Volumes: Half Day Clinic 12 15, Half Day Surgery 8 10
Practice shares 3 RNs, dedicated MA support for every physician, 2 surgery schedulers in-house
Outreach Required: Clinics in LaPorte, Chesterton, Valparaiso (all within 30 minutes commute)
Potential Virtual Visits
Shared collaboration between physician for APPs in group
* Hospital based Nurse Practitioner sees new consults and rounding ahead of physicians
* Clinic based Nurse Practitioner
Strong mentorship available from senior physician leadership
Strong referral base: On average 75 -100 per week for general GI
In-Network Oncology Services offering full spectrum, wrap around services
New construction and services being offered
Onsite Equipment: BRAVO, Pill Cam, Fibroscan,
HD Motility and EndoFlip located at the Surgicenter
Advanced endoscopist in the group offering EUS and a wide range of pancreaticobiliary interventions.
