Bon Secours – St. Francis Medical Center is seeking Board-Certified Gastroenterologists for ongoing weekend call coverage. This is a great opportunity to join a well-supported GI service line with consistent, predictable scheduling and a steady case mix.
Assignment Overview
Reason for Coverage: Lack of weekend GI coverage
Practice Setting: Hospital call — Saturday & Sunday (Fri 5p → Mon 7a)
Clinical Areas: Adult GI, Hospital, Clinic
EMR: Epic
Estimated Credentialing: ~90 days

Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube insertion & management

EUS (preferred)

ERCP - required

Upper GI Endoscopy, including:

Biopsy

Foreign body removal

Cautery/laser
-
Variceal injection/banding

Therapeutic/diagnostic ERCP

PEG placement
-
Average: ~8 procedures per weekend (mix of GSI, Hepatology, RGA, Surgery, Colon, EGD, ERCP)
Candidate Requirements

Board Certified — Required

Active Virginia License — Required

ERCP competent — Required

EUS experience — Preferred

Flu shot — Required

COVID vaccine — Highly Preferred

Clean malpractice for temp privileges — Required
