Ongoing Locum Gastroenterology Opportunity – Memorial Medical Center (Las Cruces, NM) | Open to licensure!

Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Gastroenterologist for an ongoing locum tenens assignment beginning December 2025(or ASAP upon licensure). This is a combination of inpatient and outpatient GI with rounding and call coverage. The facility is open to considering physicians holding any U.S. state license, and we will assist with obtaining the New Mexico medical license as well as BLS/ACLS certifications if needed.

Assignment Overview

• Start Date: 12/15/2025

• End Date: Ongoing
  

• Practice Setting: Inpatient + outpatient
  

• Call Type: Beeper

  • Avg phone consults: ~2/day

  • Avg patients seen during call: ~4/day

  • 30-minute response time required

• Schedule: Hospital GI call plus up to 8 hours/day of scheduled outpatient procedures

• Clinic Support: Experienced NP assisting with clinic patients

• EMR: Athena & Meditech
  

Procedures & Skills

Required scope includes:

• Upper GI endoscopy (biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration, variceal therapy)

• ERCP – diagnostic & therapeutic
  

• Colonoscopy (biopsy, polypectomy)
  

Travel & Lodging

• Nearest Airport: El Paso International Airport

• Lodging Options: Hilton Garden Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, Home2Suites, TownPlace Suites

Licensure & Certifications

• Open to ANY active U.S. medical license to be considered

• We will assist with:

  • New Mexico Medical License

  • BLS & ACLS certifications

• Board Certification preferred; Board-Eligible accepted

Coverage Expectations

• 1–2 weeks per month, ongoing

• Mix of hospital call and scheduled procedures

• Minimal clinic responsibilities due to strong NP support

• No admissions or supervision responsibilities
