Join Our Team as a Locum Physician – Gastroenterology in Lakewood, CO

Elevate your medical career by providing vital Gastroenterology services at a renowned Level 1 Trauma facility. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Locum Physician to support our inpatient team during critical coverage gaps. What You’ll Do:
  • Deliver comprehensive Gastroenterology care including ERCP, EUS, Endoscopy, and GI Bleed management.
  • Participate in inpatient consultations, procedures, and evaluations within a Level 1 Trauma setting.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff and support patient treatment plans, ensuring the highest standards of care.
  • Manage 5-8 scopes daily, with a patient population spanning adults, geriatrics, and adolescents.

Key Skills & Qualifications:
  • Valid medical license in Colorado or active IMLC.
  • Proven experience in Gastroenterology, specifically with ERCP procedures.
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR system.
  • Ability to perform complex GI procedures, including ERCP, EUS, and endoscopy.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on a 24-hour call schedule.

Nice to Have:
  • Prior experience in Level 1 Trauma or high-acuity hospital settings.
  • Familiarity with hospital and trauma protocols.
  • Bilingual abilities or additional language skills.

Preferred Education & Experience:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of post-residency clinical experience.
  • Previous locum or temporary coverage experience is a plus.

Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to stay in designated accommodations (Sheraton Denver West, Hampton Inn, Sonesta Simply Suites, Towne Place Suites Marriott, or Fairfield Inn Denver West).
  • Familiarity with credentialing procedures; pre-application, full application submission required promptly.
  • Successful completion of EMR training modules and virtual EMR training prior to first day.
  • Availability for 5-7 days per month, with scheduled shifts ending at 7 a.m. the following day.
  • Ability to work during specified December, January, February, and March dates, with accuracy and professionalism.
