Locum Gastroenterologist – Pen Bay Medical Center (Rockport, ME)- Steady Dates and Premium Rates

MaineHealth Pen Bay Medical Center is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for a series of scheduled locum blocks in 2026. This is an ideal assignment for physicians who value predictable hours, a supportive environment, and a practice pace that won’t wear you out.

They are open to IMLC and traditional licensure, and we will fully assist with the process.

Assignment Details

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday, 8-hour day + 30-minute lunch

• No weekends, no after-hours call

• Seeking coverage for all dates below:

  • Feb 9–13, 2026

  • Feb 16–20, 2026

  • Mar 30–Apr 3, 2026

  • Apr 27–May 1, 2026

  • May 4–8, 2026

  • May 25–29, 2026

  • Jun 1–5, 2026

  • Jun 22–26, 2026

  • Jun 29–Jul 3, 2026

Setting:

• Mix of Endo + occasional clinic (1 day/week)

• Inpatient consults during daytime hours

• Day call (7a–4p) for urgent inpatient/ER questions

• 14–16 patients/day in clinic

• Full OR support staff

• Onsite lab + X-ray

• Epic EMR

Procedures

Required:

• Lower GI endoscopy

• Sigmoidoscopy

• Colonoscopy

• Upper GI endoscopy (biopsy, foreign body removal, variceal banding, diagnostic)

Advanced procedures:

• Preferred but not required
  

Anesthesia:

• Always both an anesthesiologist + CRNA in the room

Requirements

• Board Certified Gastroenterology – ABMS or AOA

• Active ME license or IMLC LOQ preferred but open to traditional licensure (licensing candidates encouraged to apply)

• ACLS + BLS

• COVID & flu vaccination
  

• Institutional ADR ≥ 35% preferred
