Gastroenterologist Locum Tenens Opportunity – Indiana
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens assignment in Indiana. This position offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive gastroenterology care and perform both inpatient and outpatient procedures at a respected, accredited regional health system.
The ideal provider will be comfortable performing a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures and will demonstrate strong clinical judgment and teamwork.
Assignment Dates (2026)
- March 30 (7:00 AM) – April 6 (7:00 AM)
- May 4 (7:00 AM) – May 11 (7:00 AM)
- June 22 (7:00 AM) – June 29 (7:00 AM)
Orientation:
- In-person (7:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Preferably the Friday before start or within two weeks prior
Scope of Practice
The provider will diagnose, treat, and monitor disorders of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts, and liver.
Procedures include:
- PillCam capsule endoscopy
- CT colonography
- Flexible sigmoidoscopy
- Double-contrast barium enema
- FIT, gFOBT, and stool DNA tests
- Upper and lower endoscopy
- Colonoscopy
- ERCP and EUS not required.
Candidate Requirements
- License: Active Indiana medical license or IMLC
- Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years post-training
- Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA issued)
- BLS (AHA issued)
- Vaccinations:
- Flu vaccine (medical/religious exemption acceptable)
- COVID-19 vaccine (medical/religious exemption acceptable)
